"Comparison shop your insurance, they say. Find the lowest price. Thats just to try and get you looking at all the commission based sites that can't save you money if they get commission on a referral. And the closer you get to your current policy deadline the higher your rates go. You go through the process thinking one of these computer apps actually sell you insurance. No they just take all your important info and leave you subseptible to a data breach.
Then i came to state farm, who i was with for years but i had to call my agent every year and complain about my liability insurance increasing. Then he would decrease the price but always a small increase.
I hadn't even checked their rates. Then the miracle occurred . Liability insurance based on me! Not a algorithm, not some scamming comparison BS, me. They knew my payment history, they know i don't turn in claims on a new paid off car with full coverage. Ever. They gave me the lowest rate. That every insurance company knows i qualify for but refuse to sell me. I've been buying insurances longer than most of them have been alive.
My rate was still too high, but The insurance Industry claimed they were upside down on payout for claims vs money collected last year which is impossible with all the money they collected on auto insurance. Maybe one year is possible but insurance is based on time and history doesn't support their claims.
But I am greatful for State Farm pricing me on my history and giving me the fair rate. And the agency i was referred to were very polite and got me taken care of the same day. Thank you to Lora Lunn agency and staff.
